Favorite Oyster Recipes
A Classic Oyster Spread
Ingredients
- An oyster knife
- A dry towel
- Ice
- Mignonette
- Cocktail sauce
- Prepared horseradish
- Fresh lemons
Directions

Classic Mignonette:
-1/4 cup finely minced shallots (1-2 small shallots)
-1/3 cup good red wine vinegar (or any of your favorite vinegars)
-1 tsp ground black pepper
-1 tsp granulated sugar or agave syrup
-1/4 tsp sea salt
Mince shallots and combine all ingredients in a bowl; let sit at least 45 min to allow ingredients to become friends.
Pro tip! The Mignonette is fun to freeze in ice cube trays and use a microplane zester to create mignonette “ice” on top of your raw oysters! -
Cocktail Sauce
-1/2 cup ketchup
-1/2 cup Heinz chili sauce
-1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
-Juice from 1 lemon
-Dash of your favorite hot sauce (I use Cholula)
-2 tbsp prepared horseradish
-Pinch sea salt
-Pinch ground black pepper
Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl. Chill until ready to serve!
